I know it is my backyard and all, so it’s possible I’m biased – but there is no better place to host a small meeting than Whitefish, Montana.  To be fair, I am not the only one who thinks this, I do have backup – Recently, Maritz Travel (one of the country’s leading corporate meeting planning groups) brought a group from LPL Financial to Whitefish for a 3-day conference. Their goal was to learn and connect through conference sessions coupled with authentic, outdoor Montana experiences. MNW Destinations partnered with Maritz to provide local activities, décor and entertainment.  Clearly, Whitefish (the gateway to the majestic Glacier National Park) could not have been better situated to enjoy Montana’s autumn lax luxury as the tourist numbers drop and the fall colors ignite!  The event was a complete success.  Even with some unpredictable weather (and maybe partly because of), the group engaged with each other with the backdrop of recreation and the incomparable beauty of Northwest Montana.

Montana Made Programming

Day 1.
We kicked it off with a Montana themed welcome event at Grouse Mountain Lodge which hosted the conference.  An untimely downpour moved our event from the covered porch, across the hall, to the ballroom.  The flexible meeting space (and staff) at Grouse Mountain made it a seamless transition.  Local musician Nick Spear provided the entertainment and the guests were more than pleased.

Day 2.
The next day, after a morning of conferencing, most of the group went fly fishing on the Flathead River.  Major kudos to both Glacier Guides and Lakestream Fly Fishing for their outstanding service.  Everyone caught fish and enjoyed their time on the river.  Some participants even booked trips for the next day!

Day 3.
Those who did not hit the river the next day, were treated to a Red Bus ride up the famous Going to the Sun Road in Glacier National Park.  The clouds moved just as the group started up the road and they were treated to the majestic views that only Glacier can provide.  After the ride, we closed the event with a mountain jazz themed event featuring the Ross Bridgeman Trio.

If Montana is on your mind for a meeting or conference, get in touch.  We’ll tell you all about our successful effortless small-town meetings, with fantastic Montana made experiences.  From touring Glacier National Park and fly fishing our pristine rivers in the warmer months to gliding down Whitefish Mountain and enjoying a sleigh ride in a magical town when the snow hits.  We guarantee your group will thank you!
